- How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment for an Initial Chinese herbal medicine, use the online booking link in my contact page or contact me for help doing so.
- What do Chinese herbs taste like?
Chinese herbs have a variety of tastes that stimulate actions in the body: sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, bland and salty. The taste may be strong at first, but typically you will get used to the flavour after awhile.
- How do I take Chinese herbs?
I prescribe Chinese herbs in customised granulated formulas. Typically, these formulas are meant to be dissolved in boiling water and drank twice a day away from food on an empty stomach. Your prescription, however, may differ to this and will be advised upon prescription of your herbal formula.
- Can you take Chinese herbs while on pharmaceuticals, supplements or other conventional medicines?
It depends. Chinese herbs can be taken with western herbs, homeopathics, vitamins, minerals and pharmaceutical drugs as long as they are checked by your practitioner. You may be advised to take herbs at a separate time than your other medicine. This is all dependent on your condition and history. A complete list of medications will need to be brought to your initial Chinese herbal treatment.
